A popular hill station situated on top of upper Palani Hills, Kodaikanal mesmerizes any visitor with its serene atmosphere, rocks, woods, and stunning lakes. The hill station is situated at an altitude of 2133 m and covers an area of 21.45-sq km. Kodaikanal is 120km away from the Madurai airport and is easily accessible via road.

Kodaikanal is famous for the kurinji flower that blooms only once in twelve years. When it blooms, the entire valley turns blue in color. The important tourist spots include the pristine Berijam Lake, Coakers Walk, Bryant Park, Kurinji Temple, Suicide Point, Pillar Rocks, Silent Valley View, Devil%u2019s Kitchen, and Guna Caves.

Kodai Lake is one of the main attractions for the tourists of Kodaikanal. Built in 1863 by a former District Collector of Madurai, the lake is situated at an elevation of 2285m above sea level in the midst of evergreen lush slopes and is spread over 60 acres. You can hire boats from the Kodaikanal Boat and Rowing Club or Tamil Nadu Tourist Development Corporation
