Alappuzha, the land that lies between the sea and the rivers, has the Cochin Airport at a distance of approximately 90km. The district is on the NH47, and it also has a Railway Station that connects it to cities across the country.

Alappuzha has backwaters and beaches galore. Take a cruise via canals, rivers and backwaters for a terrific view of the landscape, monuments, places of worship, and industries.  The boat races held in the district during Onam are huge affairs.

Some places of worship in Alappuzha are Mullakkal Rajeswari Temple, Ambalapuzha Temple, ArthunkalChurch, Sree Krishna temple, Champakulam Church, Chettikulangara Bhagavathy Temple, EdathuaChurch, Mannarsala, and Chavara Bhavan. The historical sites Punnapra and Karumadikuttan are of significance too. Additionally, you must visit Mararikulam’s beach and fishing village.

The Restaurants in Alappuzha include Indian Coffee House, Malabar Restaurant, Halai’s Fried Chicken, Arcadia, and many more! Alappuzha offers a great pick for good quality coir products and carpets, pepper, coconut oil, areca nut, cardamom, and sugar, and also fresh fruits and vegetables. Mullakkal, the town center is the primary shopping area.
